Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took to social media Sunday night in reaction to New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers going down with injury four plays into his 2023 NFL Season Opener against the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium.
Mahomes, 27, soon realized his tweet seemed like he was saying something else and learned the hard way that grammar matters. One single comma missing from the text turned his post from positive to negative.
"Hate that man," Mahomes tweeted. "Praying for the best."
Mahomes then added the comma after "that" and before "man" to confirm he really does not "hate" Rodgers. In fact, the Chiefs QB has expressed his admiration of the four-time league MVP on multiple occassions.
"Knew I was going to need that edit button on here one of these days," Mahomes tweeted when realizing his mistake.
